Just saw this - which design would you choose for Queen Elizabeth II's memorial in St James Park?
And yes, I know there are better ways to spaff £40million.

Option 1 - Lilypads and statue of Liz on horseback

So taxpayers spending money on this yet we watch record use of foodbanks, cutting society's safetynet and support for the most vulnerable, for those most in need, etc.

Really should have a "none" option, IMHO.

If I HAD to choose, say, on pain of death, then option 1 or 5, I have gone for 1 in poll

Can we have a say on where to locate it?, why should London have everything 😂, we have a statue of Queen Victoria outside South Shields Town Hall, may, Liz could keep her company?

A bit picky, I know, but... taxpayers aren't spending money on this, Taxpayers money is being spent on this by various, often unelected, flunkies. I think we need a referendum.

The OP's quoted BBC report raises
This will follow in the tradition of legacy schemes such as the King George V Playing Fields, which saw almost 500 sports grounds opened in memory of the monarch who died in 1936.

Many of those playing fields are still in use, dotted around the country.
If money is to be spent, 500 sports grounds fotted around the country seems a far better use of money and something society can benefit from. Why not something useful, distributed around the UK that serves a purpose. eg why not a "Memorial cycle route" and if it needs a royal link make it between two royal sites or historic sites.

Couldn't agree more. There is a King George V playing field about a mile from where I live, in regular use.
