Happy Easter.
Small explanation to all those who are " atheist " ( I am too), non believers, believers of other faiths and ways of life.
This is a CALCUTTA CELEBRATION. Along with Christmas, Eid, Durga/ Kali puja ( and tons of others), Holi, Rakhi , various New Years etc etc.
Calcuttans live to celebrate and celebrate to live.
It's who we are...

She is risen.!!!

Eggs can help with that sort of a thing 🌈🎂💃

For sure - make the most of every moment .
But not necessarily in a rushing about exhausting yourself kind of a way ..

I don’t know if there’s a special cake but these little fried dough balls called gulgule are a thing

View attachment 3635

(Recipe at https://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/gulgule-recipe/). They remind me of puff-puffs, a typical West African street food. 😋
Yum.
They remind me of the dough balls that a friend who specialises in Gujarati catering makes, and serves with syrup..

In fact given the provenance, those are probs the very same thing 🤔

I must remember to wish her happy Vaisakhi. 💃
