Imran Khan

I live in a very multicultural area, with a large Muslim population - predominantly from Pakistan [ This for context only]


For the last few times I have been out on my bike, I have seen increasing numbers of posters, mainly on car's stating "I support Imran Khan" or "I'm standing with Imran Khan" or "Free Imran Khan" or similar slogans

The imprisoning of Imran Khan was a story in media at the time of it happening. Like most stories it ceases to get headlines after a while.

however with the rapid increase in the posters in last 2 weeks or so, I was wondering has there been some development in the story. Reading British Press, there is little if any mention of him.

His wife was granted bail last week so people think he's got a chance too. He probably doesn't.

The only thing I can see is that there have been increasing calls for his release from jail. Richard Branson has raised it and 20 (so far) parliamentarians have called on the UK to intervene.

Khan was a popular if fairly useless prime minister, but trying to take on the military was perhaps a gamble too far. Expect an assassination attempt if he is released.
