He did say he wouldn't be in the running for president of the EC when Charles Michel resigned, but who knows if there's any truth in that. Plus it was back in January so things could have changed.

Sad that any sudden resignation comes with speculation about the motives.

I don't think that's entirely fair. Obviously all people will remember is Branchform, for which still hasn't found anything after over two years of investigation.

There were far more factors at play for her resignation which she was pretty open about.

Sir Keir's comment on him leaving was a little lukewarm I thought. 'I've also had to give a Linked In reference for someone I didn't think was very good' was one comment. Still, Lidl Ireland were on the ball.
