May sound an odd question, but humour me...

Without wanting to descend into the usual political hatred for one or other of the protagonists
This morning listening to the radio news programmes they said that overnight Iran had attacked US sites in the Middle East and the US had attacked Iranian sites. They went onto say that this brings about fears the ceasefire may collapse

Well forgive me, but if both sides are attacking each other's sites, doesn't that mean there is no ceasefire?
Surely just by the mere definition of the word "ceasefire"

You are correct. There isn’t a grey area. As a word, in this current conflict, it’s simply become a PR tool, nothing more.
