Although I suspect Trûmp's Will is written to make sure he keeps everything personally. "You can't take it with you" just won't apply to him. Or maybe it'll be like the Egyptian Pharaohs and he'll be buried in a golden tome surrounded by his wealth.
Or once he’s out of the Whitehouse and of no use all his debts will get called in and there’ll be nothing to pass on.
Now there's a thought ... maybe the bunker under the "Ballroom" isn't a bunker atall. Maybe like the Egyptian Pharaohs it's an elaborate tomb and he won't actually even be leaving the Whitehouse but when age catches up with him, he'll be in a Golden Tomb but still in the Presidential Residence.

Surely then they'd get greater satisfaction giving them the money before they die.

That depends.

There's limits on what you can give away before you die. The tax folk view it as disposal of assets. They could soften any detrimental inheritance tax change by upping the limits a little.

There are many ways (allowed under the tax system). Which is best depends on what is being given away eg trusts.

Just shows you that being brilliant, even flawless with a massive "off-the-scale" IQ doesn't avoid blindingly obvious mistakes

They obviously didn't have the lesson I had about getting a rough idea of the figure before turning the handle on the adding/multiplication machine.

And with miscalculations like that can you imagine how they'll handle the entire UK economy? Oh dear, we underestimated loan interest payments by £10bn, etc. So much for a party presenting itself as capable on the economy.

I would hope that civil servants might be involved a bit more in the process, not just a few spads who can't do simple mental arithmetic.

Another (probably sensible) one bites the dust. The Tories are still lost, fighting Reform's culture wars for them.

She is grumbling about Burnham being on Gogglebox now….

“What I'm amazed at is that Andy Burnham has got time to go on Gogglebox," she said.
"When you get a new job in politics it's so difficult.
"There's so much to do and it's like drinking from a fire hose.
"Even as a junior minister or as a secretary of state I never had time to go on Gogglebox - I just don't know how he's got the time.”

I’m amazed she has the time to grumble about Burnham being on Gogglebox.

Quite looking forward to Badenoch and Farage being on Gogglebox now (even if I don't know what Gogglebox is).
