Apparently Milliband has reduced our capacity by:

• Lifting the onshorre wind fram ban
• Approving more solar farms in 2 years than in the previous decade.
• Unlocked tens of billions of private investment in the CfD auctions
• Introduced sweeping connections reform issuing over 700 offers to "shovel ready" schemes - that's more than 50% of the capacity promised by 2030 when our grid will be almost Carbon free.
• Establishing Great British Energy which co-invests in wind solar, and other clean power projects

He got rid of all the speculative zombie projects blocking progress, and now connections are only offered to those projects that are actually ready to go.

But yeah. NIgerian Oil.

I love a "It came as something of a surprise"... suggestive of a fury that could be temporarily measured on the Richter scale, followed by all the "IDGAF what she thinks about me" apparently mild criticisms sprinkled liberally amongst the faint praise. It reminds me slightly of Geoffrey Howe's resignation speech, which wasn't so much about an individual matter as about how Thatcher (by that stage) dealt with any of the more moderate voices in the party.

She was arguing that the imports of fossil fuels that we now have are dirtier and outweigh the cuts elsewhere. Or something like that.

It struck me as being at best an exaggeration.

Apparently Badenoch has blocked Grant Shapps from standing for the Conservatives.

This is my favourite comment:

The end of that last sentence is presumably "because that one has all farked off to Reform leaving the wide eyed innocents and the dribbling loons that no-one wants"

Confidence - yes she is always certain that she is right about everything.

I always tend to think about an incoming leader as whether they would embarrass the nation in the international community. In the case of Badenoch I don't happen think her somewhat aggressive behaviour and lack of temperance would serve us well abroad as a nation - probably no better than Farage had done as an MEP. Opinions may vary.
