Pity the other roadster which was revealed in err... 2017 (as a concept to be launched in 2020) has many customers having paid up front still waiting.
Which is kind off surprising considering they put they cybertruck on the road in astatus thatmost sel-respecting companies wouldn't even call beta or alpha stage.
Then again, they make a trailer hitch that just breaks clean off if it gets to much pressure. (and the whole car won't drive anymore afterwards)

You wot?
I have a niece who had a year during her degree course seconded(?) if that's the right term to work in JLR. This was late 20teens, so 7-8 years back. Then appeared JLR were in total OMG mode to what Tesla were doing with EVs.

Reckon things may well be different now.

Add the cost of product-process development of a unique model (a lot of Tesla funded by the Chinese) with pressure on the expectation of sales... Tick tick tick tick BOOM! Bankruptcy. Proper f*cked,

Pretty much most of the largest manufacturers have adopted some of Tesla's manufacturing techniques. The Giga press making large section body structures is one.

The advantage Tesla has over just about every other car maker is there is no legacy costs issues.

They are a software company making cars, so don't think like any other car maker.

They are extremely efficient in production keeping costs down.

Compared to legacy makers who are losing money per car they make.

BYD, are probably bigger than Tesla. A Chinese company that's adopted many of the ideas and techniques from Tesla. They will become the most dominant car brand very very soon

Those techniques Matchbox have been using to make their toy cars for decades. Tesla don't even make the "giga press" machine and they don't own the patents for it.

So, Tesla are employing somebody else's techniques, using a machine somebody else designed and made and the marketing department are thrusting their hips all over every automotive related article they can get their hands on to make spurious claims...

Yep, that'll be a Daewoo Tesla...

We know the process, it's the scale of the process that no one used in mass production of vehicles.

We also know the Giga press is made by Italian firm called Idra.

Other car makers scoffed at Tesla, but soon realised the production cost savings. Ford, Volvo, Hyundai and other Chinese car makers now use Giga press technology

Nonsense. The production of Teslas is the production of vehicles. No matter what that process involves. The Volkswagen Wolfsburg Plant in Germany is the biggest at 6.5m square meters.
Tesla is 8th in the production table behind Volkswagen, Toyota, Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, General Motors, and Honda.
Tesla may have been an innovator but they are quickly being superseded. We can safely use the American expression: 'they have dropped the ball'.

I'm not disputing others are catching, but it isn't anyone in Europe or north America. It's the Chinese who are hot on the heels of Tesla.

Bear in mind Tesla and other Chinese makers are the only one making profit per car with an EV. VW Don't, Ford don't, Stellantis don't.

These legacy makers are really struggling financially to compete on the world stage, especially in China, where everyone including Tesla are finding it hard
