Duplicating something only adds more costs. Move the whole thing if it works, but how does an office in Manchester help Cornwall or Newcastle compared to an office in London.

Unrelated, its reported Burnham flew in government plane to Glasgow and then to Manchester...Journeys that could have been made by rail. so much for net zero.

Or is it some animals are more equal than others and net zero only applies to some people? I'm sure someone could write a book about this sort of behaviour

Weren't they warning the Tories about the exact same things? And doesn't it amount to "warning" that spending too much or borrowing too much is bad, m'kay; and that depending on how you go about it, raising tax rates doesn't necessarily mean collecting more tax?

We're I to guess, I would guess that these truths would be written on the inside of toilet cubicle doors in the treasury by now, in those little clip frames that used to contain car finance adverts.

Not really. You posted something from a lame satirical website, neither inviting nor presenting comment until after.

As it happens there are aspects I agree with of No 10 North, specifically greater visibility outside of Westminster. However it's all a bit half arsed which is frustrating.

I am all in favour of “the regions” getting some attention, but, if we are just going to have Westminster incompetence, exported to “the regions”, by the likes of Our regional Mayor, or Mr Houchen, I am not so sure.

I can't see how that much cost is defendable.

It's not. Build a purpose built new building and sell the plot.
Where the new one should be built can be up for debate.
