You haven't made an argument.

And conveniently ignored the thread I'd pointed out which is political.

Plus ca change...

I have made my argument.

Political threads are banned on main cycle chat . The op tried to start a political thread and it got banned in accordance with their rules.

Like it or not, its not discrimination against any group or race. Its consistent application of the rules.

If you don't like the actions of the moderators, then take it up with them. Their decision, their rules.

I ignored the thread you linked to as it is wholly irrelevant to the subject in question and another attempt by you to divert from the fact that the moderators on the main forum deleted a political thread in accordance with their rules in their view

Oh look another one making personal attacks!

Mind you coming from someone who claims despite the title of this thread

"charity-bike-ride-against-apartheid-and-genocide....."
That it was merely a ride to feed people, forgive me if I don't take your opinion too seriously

A thread about anti apartheid and genocide is a political thread. Whether the cause is a good one or not is irrelevant, its still a political one

That is irrelevant to the fact that political posts are not allowed on the main cycle chat forum

They are in connection with cycling. The mods seem to ignore this and get upset when I point it out.

Its consistent application of the rules.

This is the problem, there was no consistency.

You could post a thread for charity bike rides that supported the victims of war in any country but Palestine. I know because I tested it.

You could use flags of any country in your avatar or sig line, except Palestine.
I know because I tested it.

In a way they were consistent, with their prejudice against Palestinians.

Feel free to start your own forum if you don't like the moderation of that one

Nothing to say about the inconsistency?

Can't really say I'm surprised. You do tend to run away when your view is challenged or contradicted.

You say its inconsistent. I say it isn't

Unlike you, I'm sensible to realise we disagree and you won't change your mind and I won't change my view, so why bother with hundreds of posts where you won't consider what I say and vice versa.

The debate is done as far as I am concerned

I can back up my position, can you?

Last year, someone posted a thread about getting support for some disabled cyclists in Palestine to help them reach their goal of competing at the next Paralympics.

It was immediately removed.

I posted a modified version of the same appeal and it was locked shortly afterwards without explanation. No political discussion took place or was invited, simply an appeal to support fellow cyclists achieve a dream. On checking a while later, I found that it had since been quietly removed too.

Later that month, I posted a thread about a charity ride from Sheffield to Uzhgorod, in support of children suffering at the hands of Russian invaders in the war in Ukraine. The mods left it alone.

A few months later, I posted another thread highlighting a charity ride by two Scottish pensioners, raising money for medical care of children affected by the war in Gaza and surrounding areas. It was a thread to draw attention to the fundraising and the achievement of a couple of pensioners covering 2,400 miles in nine weeks.

Someone pointed out it was behind a paywall so I cut & pasted the crux of the article carefully, editing it so as to avoid direct references to things like the murder of 17,000 children, the settler violence, and more so as to avoid sparking any political debate.

And that worked, since there wasn’t any.

Once again, however, that was locked without explanation.

A subsequent thread I started was about getting bicycles across to war-torn Sudan to keep people mobile and connected. Even though that thread did get a bit political, the mods left it alone.

The bias couldn’t be more obvious; any people could be the focus for support, except Palestinians.

But you say there’s no inconsistency…

Just a quick update with some pics from yesterday. With over 250 riders, we made our way south through Sheffield (on quieter roads where possible), to Queen's Park in Chesterfield, then via Rother Valley Country Park and the Trans Pennine Trail back to Sheffield.

Given that the route was not published, we received a spontaneous and overwhelmingly positive reception en route from pedestrians and drivers alike. It was truly heartwarming and reassuring that there were so many like-minded, caring people showing solidarity for our cause. ❤️

p.s. the donation page is still active if anyone still wants to donate. Who knows, maybe the mods will chuck in a few quid! 🍉🚴

Wow. Just wow. Incredible.
I get the impression that if it's anything remotely to do with Palestine, the mods just cack their pants.
