You say its inconsistent. I say it isn't
I can back up my position, can you?
Last year, someone posted a thread about getting support for some disabled cyclists in Palestine to help them reach their goal of competing at the next Paralympics.
It was immediately removed.
I posted a modified version of the same appeal and it was locked shortly afterwards without explanation. No political discussion took place or was invited, simply an appeal to support fellow cyclists achieve a dream. On checking a while later, I found that it had since been quietly removed too.
Later that month, I posted a thread about a charity ride from Sheffield to Uzhgorod, in support of children suffering at the hands of Russian invaders in the war in Ukraine. The mods left it alone.
A few months later, I posted another thread highlighting a charity ride by two Scottish pensioners, raising money for medical care of children affected by the war in Gaza and surrounding areas. It was a thread to draw attention to the fundraising and the achievement of a couple of pensioners covering 2,400 miles in nine weeks.
Someone pointed out it was behind a paywall so I cut & pasted the crux of the article carefully, editing it so as to avoid direct references to things like the murder of 17,000 children, the settler violence, and more so as to avoid sparking any political debate.
And that worked, since there wasn’t any.
Once again, however, that was locked without explanation.
A subsequent thread I started was about getting bicycles across to war-torn Sudan to keep people mobile and connected. Even though that thread did get a bit political, the mods left it alone.
The bias couldn’t be more obvious; any people could be the focus for support, except Palestinians.
But you say there’s no inconsistency…
