has backed down
not just the "OK never mind that - we'll wait 90 days" bit
but also now he is exempting smartphone, computers and components and stuff
wonder if that will make a huge difference to any car makers in the USA - that he might have met???
I think we should spare a thought for the poor soul who has had the job of pinning him to the wall and explaining to him that his GREAT IDEA was a load of crap
and how you actually have to think these things through before jumping in with both feet and no lifejacket!!

What is so daft and highlights the complete lack of thought on Trump's (lack of) plans is that everyone knew iPhones, etc. where manufactured in China, that massive tariffs would cause massive price increases most primary school kids had worked out. So to throw in this just after last minute change, to "oh my god, never realised that ..." just shows the complete lack of thought from the top, no analysis, no what undesired effects.
Beggars belief.

zero plans - just thinks that his Great Ideas will work out because he wants them to
and if they don't then it is someone else's fault unless they can persuade him to "reveal that he intended to back down right from the start"
sooner or later "The People" will realise that he is dangerous and incompetent
I still am presuming that he has some plans afoot regarding the midterms which will "correct" things so the he still wins
