It's actually a bit kamikaze, because the increased debt in itself will increase borrowing costs, surely?

Something tells me that Harvard won't take this lying down, but as a indicator of what Trump is going to do to higher education establishments that won't bend the knee, this is astonishing. Even for Trump. His vindictiveness is so plain for everyone to see.

Well, given that most of the top lawyers come from there, I imagine there will be plenty of offers to help. It'll be interesting to see what fronts they'll fight back on.

Harvard will survive, and be able to call itself a beacon of free speech and integrity for a few generations. I'd almost warrant that they will see a spike in donations from rich alumni that will offset what Trump is trying to take away.
