I think the US is long overdue a review of their abandonment of isolationist policy... I think Trump can be convinced.

That's pretty much what Trump has said he wanted but they cannot help themselves but cannot help but poke their nose in.

When Netanyahu says "Jump!", Trump (and Starmer, naturally) responds - "Yes Sir, of course, Sir - into which fire, Sir?"

You know that's not true. Several Arab states have just signed trillion dollar deals with the USA.

Iran has been funding and helping destabilise the region for decades. Those Arab states who don't engage in terrorism are the productive ones.

Much of which includes weapons. So we must then conclude, a destabilised region is good for the defence industry and/or these weapons help destabilise the region in the first place....

Have we seen Saudi or the other 'peaceful' Arab States attacking Israel? You have to ask why the Like of Egypt dont want to accept Palestinian people or their terrorist armed groups. They are trouble with a big T. Iran has been funding all these factions, fuelling conflict for decades.

If Iran were to stop funding the region would be far far more peaceful

im struggling to find any country in the middle east, the Saudis or otherwise in support of regime change or US bombings for that matter in Iran. Odd considering your point.

We haven't seen outrage from Saudi or anyone the peaceful nations. Yes there has been muted condemnation of entering Irans airspace.

Saudi doesn't want nuclear weapons in the region either itself or others

They've made repeated comments to that affect and this morning on the bombings. Saudis air force is larger than the RAFs and is very capable of joining Israel in removing the Iranian threat (with exception of the use of bunker busters) but hasn't, and neither has anybody else.

On the point of WMDs, we've heard all this before...

Size of military is irrelevant. Saudi has an allegiance to the other Arab nations, but is acutely aware of its own nations stability and world politics.

It's no secret Iran has been producing nuclear material, hiding certain elements of production from inspections.

Instead of dallying around, USA has used the MOP bomb to take out (hopefully) irans ability to make more uranium and plutonium.

They are and have been the major destabilising regime in the region.

CR why do you think placing me into the entity category makes your statement anymore valid. It probably makes you look like a child, trying level playground scoring jibes.

But hey carry on if it feels good to you 👍

Saudi Arabia is hardly a beacon of equality and democracy. Nor are any of the other Arabic nations. Most of them are run by either a dictatorship or dictatorial Monarchy.
The Saudi's have thrown $miilions against the Houthi's who are backed by Iran in what can only be described as a proxy war.
It was the Saudi's who murdered Khashoggi after all. (Many republicans were opposed to the Saudi investment deal by Trump at the time in the shadow of the killing - more of that below).

As to that $1.3tr, investment claim by Trump from the Saudi's, neither the claims nor the maths add up. First of all, the Saudi's claim it's a $600bn investment. The NYT stated that "The figure Mr Trump is seeking exceeds the value of all assets in the Kingdom's hefty sovereign wealth fund".
- Tim Callen (economist and former international monetary fund chief to Saudi Arabia) who also said that he didn't know how they would even reach that $600bn figure.
The Saudi's put up a big sign welcoming Trump stating $300bn dollars...
In 2017 Trump claimed Saudi investment would 'potentially support' 10,000+ jobs in the US, which soon turned to 40,000 jobs and then changed again to 50,000 jobs and then jumped to 450,000 jobs then 500,000 jobs and the investment figure jumped to $110bn dollars and wait for it... 600,000 jobs then 'we are talking about over a million jobs' states Trump, all quotes within a 7 month timescale.
However, the total of goods and services exported to Saudi Arabia between 2017 and 2020 was less than the total exported during Obama's second term.
As for the gilded jet ('free of charge'), estimated refurbishment costs $1bn and it will transfer over to Trumps Library at the end of his tenure. So, the US tax payer pays for the refurb and doesn't get to keep it.
'Today we have the worlds richest leaders and they are going to walk away with big checks' - said openly by Trump in Saudi to the press. Cheques for billionaires... What goes to the American people?

It was the Saudi's who were financing the Liv golf tour in the US. This came about after the US PGA dropped Trump as well as the UK PGA stating that Turnberry 'would not be used for the Open for the foreseeable future'. (Trump became toxic by a lot of media and organisations post the insurrection).
The $18bn Trump Tower 2 is planned for the UAE at $20m dollars a pop for an apartment.
It was the Saudi Prince who gifted Jared Kushner (Trump's son in law) £2bn to his venture capital fund just months after leaving the Whitehouse.
Eric Trump flew out to Qatar to sign a deal to build a golf resort, theme park and complex with a price tag of $5.5bn.
Trumps trip to the middle east was just a money making racket.
There were many other deals.

[If there was any slight reason to believe that the Saudi's were actually investing in the US and that the highly inflated $1.3tr deal was beneficial to the American people]
