It'll be interesting to see if and when they find the assassin whether he is the deranged socialist that the RW press (and Boris Johnson) is assuming he is.

Conspiracist hat on: it suits MAGA just as much that the assassin hasn't been identified, as it allows endless speculation about the evil socialist they are assuming did it.

Oh come on Andy. He was quite vocal about that. I'm not doing your homework for you, you can look for yourself.

No,

You have said he called for the execution of gay people

You made another way off the mark comment about Farage at the congressional meeting, about him calling for sanctions. Farage never said that either- I watched the debate.

Charlie Kirk was an amazing debater, stuck to his principles of Christian beliefs.

I've watched many of his campus debates never once did he call for violence against others.

Sadly he was recently asked what he would like to be remembered for if he were to die,

he said his faith.

I sit here in glorious indifference.
Cookiemonster has unashamed condemnation for a man who held abhorrent views, I see no celebration in his posts.
On one hand, Kirk was a man who somehow justified the 2nd amendment despite the facts that far more Americans die of hand gun deaths than they do from foreign conflict. It's all a bit ironic. 1.8m domestic gun related deaths since 1945. Kirk's views on the right to bear arms is only the tip of the Kirk iceberg. The Nazi rhetoric of Kirk and Turning point USA needs to be condemned for it is this that is promoting white supremacy and quietly celebrates deportations of 'illegals' along with inhumane incarceration. There is far too much indifference to extremist views in the US. Prejudice is often based in ignorance. Radicalised individuals base their prejudice on both ignorance, intolerance but worse, promotes action.
The US stands by the 2nd amendment and free speech and it all sounds fine but there are insufficient regulations on gun ownership and there are no laws against hate speech. So, I sort of shrug my shoulders. If this is the culture that they espouse, then Kirk's death is a manifestation of that.
On the other hand, if it is possible that an extremist can be murdered, then others who hold fairer opinions can be shot too. It's a free for all in a society that is, as far as I am concerned, morally broken.

I think that if an individual has been on the receiving end of prejudice and hatred, they see this differently to those who haven't.

His final word was' violence.' Something that he was quite happy to ferment as long as others got hurt.

Again, tell me where in the bible that calls for the execution of gay people? Did Jesus say anything about that?

He used Christianity as a grift and, as many US Christians do, they cherry pick bits of the bible to justify their own hate. He probably never read one.

Funnily enough, I don't believe a single word of your post.

So just to be clear you are calling Charlie Kirk a Nazi?

I do. One less nazi is always a good thing but where did I celebrate a murder?

You called him a Nazi and literally said the death of a Nazi is a good thing. Who did you mean if not Kirk? Your posts today very much suggest you think he got what he deserved. Murder is not a proportionate response to views you don't like, however unpleasant they might or might not be.

It's an interesting ethical (and philosophical) question:

- I support the rule of law; I support due process over violent acts of revenge .
- But at the same time, I can see some natural justice when someone like this supports evil, and then dies by an evil act.
