It might have been a better question just to ask if he knew what 'habeas corpus' is. "Never met the guy, did he make the coffee or something?"

Seriously, US journalists' habit of asking long rambly questions with two or three parts is both rubbish anyway, but Trump's got no chance of answering them with any competence, as he can only hold a part of a shortish sentence in his mind, even when the sentence is the one he's actually saying himself. It's one of the giveaways of dementia, as it requires some degree of short term memory, given the recursive nature of human language. Trump can't remember how he started sentences, hence his demented ramblings as his mind wanders off onto something unrelated.

It's undoubtedly a strategy to see if they can actually deploy federal troops against the wishes of a state (Democratic, obvs) and get away with it. Just a few hundred at first, but sometime before the midterms, if they've not been physically stopped from (in effect) invading states against their will, they'll take military control of those states. Pritzker and Newsom can see it for what it is, while Schumer will be writing very serious letters.

One way or another, if Miller and Trump continue the invasions (for that's what they are), it's going to get ugly.

Sure but they have not got the personnel to cover every state. When the medicare and the Obamacare runs out, there will many be former MAGA's who will not be on side anymore. That means that effectively, ' Red states' are no longer Red states.
The national guard deployed in LA came and went. How long will they stay in Illinois?

Farmers are under enormous pressure. Those farmers are really feeling the pinch.
Idaho - deep concerns about possible labour shortages because of the immigration clamp down. This, like many predominantly agricultural states is a traditionally conservative state:

Idaho farmers are currently under pressure from a variety of factors, including rising input costs, labor shortages, climate change impacts, and regulatory uncertainties. Economic challenges, combined with environmental stressors, are making it difficult for some farmers to remain profitable.

China's sudden halt in soybean imports, a key U.S. export, is causing alarm among American farmers as prices collapse and storage overflows. President Trump plans to address this "negotiating" tactic with President Xi at the APEC summit, highlighting the significant economic and political impact on the agricultural heartland.

Republicans represent 81 of the 100 major congressional districts in terms of agricultural sales.

The number of small business bankruptcies filed by farmers has reached a five-year high, according to data compiled by Bloomberg in July.

Meanwhile, Trumps attempts to politicise the armed forces to mobilise them against the general public will probably yield nothing. With rising costs, a recession looming, rising unemployment and, businesses struggling who is Miller et all actually going to get any support from? How does Herr Miller instigate what is ostensibly being touted as preparation for a military coup with just ICE employees and a national guard?
What do moderate Republican senators do and say when the inhabitants simply don't buy the sh*t and are suffering the consequences of Trumps policies (or lack of)?

National Guard comprises of 350,000 people and ICE 21,000. The US has a population of 340m.

Oh and some loyal farmers are 'hanging tough' because they believe that Trumps tariffs will deliver in the long run. It won't and we know that but their loyalty is blind and blindly they will go down a hole.
Any wonder Trump has provided $bns in subsidies to farmers as a short term fix whilst simultaneously not paying federal employees?
A few airports had to temporarily shut down due to a lack of air traffic controllers.

I see Trump's presidency as a ticking time bomb which will slowly manifest itself in widespread economic pain.

If you can make this out, it makes for pretty grim reading of the current economic and social issues in the US:
