Thing I can't understand is why Trump is so set on Venezuela. All commentators I've seem highlight that the drugs justification is just untrue. Plus illegal drug production and export is very profitable and you don't need to use massive oil exports to fund drugs anyway (I spent some time in northern Peru on the main cocaine export route and it was interesting).

Regime change doesn't seem sensible as why would Trump be so upset about one South American country.

Only real reason I can currently come up with that makes sense is it's making Trump feel like a "strong man" who "holds all the cards". From Trump's vision of himself he's sitting in Mar-a-Logo and building a ballroom in Washington - whereas Putin is invading another country, Netanyahu bombing everybody nearby yet Trump doing nothing. So maybe this is Trump demonstrating he's a "tough guy" as well?

Oil is the obvious one but there are vast mineral reserves as well, per below. This has nothing to do with drugs other than being an excuse.

Everything that's going on in the healthcare stuff, from subsidies, to disease control and vaccines, reinforces my opinion that there's an active policy to kill the poor, the ill, and the old (who aren't stinking rich), as they only drag down the profitability of the young, healthy & rich people.

They've only just got started, but it's as clear as day.

Yep, but who is going to clean their toilets and flip their hamburders once all the poor are dead or have been deported?

All commentators I've seem highlight that the drugs justification is just untrue.

Around 110,000 Americans die each year from overdose, predominantly fentanyl

5 to 6 million Americans are addicted to fentanyl.

You think these numbers are insignificant, you're talking out of your arse

Bombing the drug runners and crippling dark registered ships of Venezuela will sharpen the minds in power.

They will need to stop facilitating the drug cartels or Trump will bring about regime change through his actions
