Guess the moron doesn't realise that Europe owns nearly double the amount of US bonds and equities than the rest of the world combined. For all the bluster, his Cabinet really are exceptionally dumb.

Indeed, hence my comment. You really don't want to pissing off your biggest investors.

He's just said that "The UK will have to change their ways on energy and immigration or pay the price.".

In the context

Going net zero so rapidly will be hugely detrimental to the economy

Iuncontrolled immigration will destroy the British culture without radical steps

Plus EU is not a trivial market for the US. Significant trade, significant population and for a lot of trade acts more as a single body.

And with trade importers will only import what people will buy (whatever the trade terms) and US keeps insulting Europe and the population will become more negative about US and US products ...

Not sure you lot understand how bond markets work.
Those who hold US Treasuries can't just demand repayment. Their options are to wait until maturity at which time they will be repaid, or they sell them to someone else. Sell too many and the price you get will fall which makes little difference to the US.
The issue the US will have is that due to His Madness, purchasers of new issues will want a higher yield due to the added risk of holding US Treasuries, which means the US may find it harder to raise the sums they need / want on the bond markets.
