I didn't bother watching that one. If it's on a subway/public transport you can pretty much guarantee it's been staged. The "reality" those videos like to portray is ridiculous, but it clearly works for some people.

I don't think this would sit comfortably with the Canadians. They have already expressed their concern that our King has not commented on their sovereignty in the face of Trump's wishes (real or not) to annexe Canada.
Are we now spineless? Or just too economically weak/insignificant (post Brexit) with no real leverage?

I suspect a combination of both along with fence sitting Starmer hoping for a good trade agreement. Which he won't get. "America first!"

Maybe push Canada to become a republic? Make them start questioning their own membership of the Commonwealth?

Knocking off Maga hats is more akin to ripping off Muslim women's hijabs. You're doing something just because you dislike the wearer's beliefs - beliefs which they are free to hold in the US.

Iranian clerics are employed solely to promote and enforce government oppression in a country where different beliefs cannot be freely held, so knocking off their headware is a bit different.

Having lived through a long period of unusually calm, conflict-free times (in Western Europe that is), I think it's pretty much a return to normal. You could argue that, like the forecast San Francisco earthquake, conflict is actually overdue.

It's also deeply frustrating reading Crystal's book that extensively cites a speech by Obama extolling the persuasiveness of eloquence, that we've returned to barely coherent ranting.

This is all very egalitarian. The problem is, the fascists are taking over. The Democrats are being criticised for their lack of resistance (although it's gathering pace) and people are left angry and feeling powerless.
One could argue that the rise in fascism has to be countered at every level. The fascists are hardly egalitarian and do not promote free speech. Nor are you allowed to counter them as you will be labelled part of the woke/Marxist/left agenda. Therefore, shooting them is warranted, necessary even, never mind knocking their hats off.
Sorry if that sounds extreme and almost hateful but i'm not disguising my feelings and I expect many in the US feel the same.
