Deluded. Totally undeniably deluded.
(Bold part made bold by me)

"Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal," says US President Donald Trump, adding that he will be the one to make it happen.
In a social media post, Trump points to recent tensions between countries around the world which he says he helped to stop.
The US has been helping with ceasefire talks between Ukraine and Russia, as well as Israel and Hamas. Both wars are still going on.
"Likewise, we will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran!" Trump says.
"Many calls and meetings now taking place. I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand.
"MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!"

As I see it, I'm surprised how quickly US power is diminishing under Trump. His early days and policy direction were clearly going to make US less relevant to the rest of the world and that they would be losing power and influence. But it's happening really quickly. eg for years Netanyahu has been desperate to attack Iran but US has always stopped him; yet despite Trump's in person public announcement he didn't want them to attack they just ignored US wishes and went ahead anyway. Trump wants Putin to back off in Ukraine but US completely ignored.

And so many countries that rarely feature in western news reports are already moving closer to China.

Happening really fast and won't be quick for whoever succeeds Trump to reverse.

“I’m telling you don’t do it”
“What will you do if we ignore you?”
“Post on Truth Social, in BLOCK CAPITALS MIND YOU, and sign something with a Sharpie”

He’s a total joke, unfortunately the only World leader who still thinks he’s worth engaging with is Starmer. I wonder when Melania will dump him?

The videos of the military parade will prompt plenty of mirth in Russia, China and North Korea, I suspect, and won't exactly have them quaking in their boots. As you say, the speed at which the USA is being dismantled - militarily, economically, soft power (foreign influence) and internally (from healthcare to basic machinery of government) is quite extraordinary. I do wonder if the parade might make the military come to their senses and realise that the world is laughing at them under Trump & Hesgeth.
