Well yes, but that's not the point here.

Stevo, I had a flash of inspiration yesterday. For a while I have been thinking of a suitable phrase to counteract your favoured "leftiebollox". Last night it hit me..... "rightyshitey" 😉

The real worry is that stuff like this is "the ball game" so to speak. It is the ceaseless bowing and caving to authoritarian power by supposedly democratic institutions (yes, it is a mega company but they are still autonomous and should remain free from political pressure). It slowly overwhelms all resistance inch by inch until you realise there is nothing left standing up to it anymore.

Indeed, and it's happening rather more quickly than I imagined.

Saint Kirk must never be criticised and no jokes may be made about Trump.

What about artistic references?

I added the "But" because many Americans consider it their right to bear arms (because legally it is), and we can disagree all we like but it doesn't matter.

Don't all those schoolkids' lives matter? Is this some done deal in your mind? Is that the way Kirk looked at the world, that you so admire: "This is my view, nothing will change my mind. You can debate me if you want. Thousands of innocent kids can die, none of that matters!"

It's not me-and-you that are at risk due to crazy american gun laws - it's Americans. Like Kirk, and his kids.

That's not even close to what I think. You and I talking about gun deaths in the US isn't going to change a thing, is all I meant. A weaponised America indeed seems to be a "done deal". And as I said, I disagreed with him.

The difference being that Carlson deserved it for his lies and conspiracy theories whereas Kimmel was fired for telling the truth which anyone can look at as it's all out there.
That's debatable, or should be. The beauty of free speech (so often mocked as "freeze peach"). Do I think Kimmel should have been fired? No. His masters did because they decided he was going to hurt their bottom line.
