Just in case you want to adjust how fashy you think it's getting, they are now arresting NY politicians and zip-tying them.

Maybe it might persuade Schumer to write a really challenging letter.

Nah, who am I kidding? That'd just be too much.

They were blocking the corridor, chanting, what did expect to happen?

Funniest scene was black woman shouting one two three..... quickly silenced as the lift doors closed

You lefties leave all the good bits out

Best chanting was outside

No borders from Palestine to Mexico

The stuff Trump said is jaw dropping. In front of the Royal family and the world press too Such a pathetic boy. His response to Peston was like i'm the biggest bully in the playground.
Oh yeah, Trump has read Orwell and Kipling and...
'USA is the hottest nation in the world' Wtf does that actually mean?!
Well done JS for interspersing MAGA/Fox/slimy Vance/Herr Miller/hypocricy/bullshit clips into that. Plus Kegseth and co. making a joke about a underwear, a hammer and Pelosi?!
Trump, the bollox and the verbal sewerage.

Gilead or civil war? What's the outcome?

Gilead or civil war? What's the outcome?

In Margaret Atwood's book the architects of Gilead provoke social tensions in order to manufacture a civil conflict after which they establish their theocratic hell. So civil war and then Gilead. As I have said many times, those that think that it is not happening both in the US and in the UK are not paying attention and/or deluding themselves (or think it won't affect them).

Yep, good to have a bit of balance in here. And more push back against lazy leftiebollox.

It is good to have some different views on here because that does more closely reflect the differences in the country as a whole. It is also an improvement in that the newer joiners do not seem to indulge in the kneejerk, formulaic rightshite that typifies one or two.

Not even if that happens to be their viewpoint?

The populist vote is dangerous.
People suck in what Farage says and what the Daily Heil prints. As long s the UK rags keep feeding their audience sh*t, the cynicism towards real politic grows and this opens the door for populism - the quick fix to difficult problems that the purveyors select and grow in the first instance.

I watched both the Beeb and ITV gloss over Trumps state visit. Not nearly enough cutting edge reporting. A few titbits like Peston's question to Trump but the rest: a narration like something out of a story book... and then they went to Windsor... and then there was a banquet... and then Melania spent time with... and then Trumps limousine had to carefully drive out of the entrance to Windsor...
Trump is a convicted felon, a sex pest, most probably a rapist (definitely an abuser), part of Epstein's world, someone who is lining his pocket and wrecking the US both domestically and internationally and Melania was handing out badges and the Princess of Wales was getting some practice in because one day, she will be entertaining presidents in the future and first lady's...
Infuriating, banal shoot.

Overall this is good news, although I suppose this will not endear Trump to some on here:-
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/busines...-beautiful-tech-pact-watershed-moment-brexit/

Quote in case paywalled:
"The US-UK tech alliance is a vindication of Brexit. It is also a vindication of Britain’s clean energy strategy.

There is something for both sides of the culture war in the paradox of Trump week.

The £150bn harvest of American investment in AI and advanced technology pulls this country a large step deeper into the US regulatory sphere and comes close to killing off the Rejoiner dream once and for all.

We are seeing the long-tail consequences of the myopic way that Brussels handled Brexit. Did it never enter the heads of the EU political class that it might have been wiser to drop the punitive pedantry and try harder to keep the UK fully onside?"
