Does the statute of limitations apply should Trump appeal the decision to dismiss - as the case was brought within the time limits. (Genuine question I don't know the answer to).

Surely it will fade away like many vengeful law suits that yield nothing and be superseded by imminent bombing of Penguins and Seagulls not coughing up tariffs.

I think in theory they could appeal and stay within the statute of limitations, but that appeal would need to succeed on the basis that the prosecutor was properly appointed, which doesn't sound like a promising avenue.
I am not sure whether the judge made any obiter statements on the various other seemingly fatal flaws in the prosecution. Such as a grand jury of one person.
Seems more likely to me that they will fabricate something new on Comey, at least. The other prosecutor's case? They will just refile I think.

I think that the maliciousness of the prosecutions will feature more and more in efforts to have cases dismissed. Kilmar Albrego is using the fact the Trump is falsely claiming that Costa Rico refused to take him (he would have been prepared to go there), so that they can send him somewhere hostile (Liberia), shows that the prosecution is malicious and their lying to the court is strong evidence of that.

I'm uncertain with Trűmp. He might be forgetting what he had for breakfast a few hours ago but he seems very capable of holding a long term grudge. I recon much of his hate of Ukraine comes from him remembering how Zelensky refused to investigate Hunter Biden when so requested to by Trump years ago. Where most sane people would quickly move on, Trǔmp seems to prefer hold grudges for the long long term.
My own experience of dementia in family (my Dad) and whilst he would forget what happened 10 mins ago, he seemed to retain a lot of memories from before his dementia started, some from his early life in great detail.

They do say that as you get older your short term memory decreases while your long term memory improves.
Nice to know that the memory files are still in there and just need to be accessed.

(Completely off-topic and probably deserving of its own thread but) in some respects it went a very small way to mitigate his condition, that he could still remember his younger days and took some pleasure from those memories, sort of clinging to who he was, that he was still a person who had done stuff.
Some years earlier for a birthday present we (his children) had trawled through his vast boxes on old photos (family, places, etc.) and selected a range chronologically and digitised/processed and created a print book. When he had to go to live in a care home they said to bring and leave them the book as it was ideal for the nurses to sit with him and go through the book and get him to tell them about the photos. Even when he couldn't recognise Mum when she visited he could still remember (some) past events and places.
