It appears that the video from the ICEman's phone has made it to the internet. If confirmed, it wouldn't seem to make the case for the ICEman very well. I'm not going to post the video, but this doesn't look like the face or words of someone intent on harm.

Also, her wife issued the following statement.

Curiously, that video has been 'leaked' by a far-right 'Alpha News', it seems, thinking it helps the ICEman's case, I guess.

I'm not going to watch it. But if you Bluesky...

Republicans join Democrats and voted to extend the affordable care act in the House of representatives.
I don't see it getting through the Senate. And unlike members of the House of Representatives, only around 1/3 of the Senate seats are up for grabs in the mid terms planned for (at least so far), later this year.

As raised (probably this thread), it gets difficult to place "blame". Of course it's Trûmp's decisions (his policies, his appointments, his management of Government) but if you appoint somebody with a track record can you be surprised when he does what is completely predictable (from past behaviour). So does part of the problem revert back to the US electorate ?

Edit: eg if we (UK) elected Faragë as PM would he be to blame" for doing what we all know he would do?
That's fair, and yes; we as a country would be collectively to blame. Donnie didn't have to do what he is doing, and could easily be accused of going against what he stood for pre-election*. Hopefully the electorate are waking up.

*As per Milzy's post.
It's an aspect I'm very unsure about. But the state of the world there are so many people in dire situations completely outside their control and I wonder if I have limited amounts of sympathy, or maybe it's limited amount of focus of these issues and the suffering.

At least US citizens get a democratic vote for those causing these issues (and they elected their current cause) and I start thinking of those in Gaza, in Ukraine, in DRC, etc.

It's a question I can't resolve in my own mind.

There is nothing to see in regards him firing his gun. It was all reasonably cordial until she tried to drive away when told to get out of the car by the other officer. It does look like the officer was hit by the vehicle. Its all over 𝕏 too

I've watched it several times now.

Renee's partner tries to open the front passenger door just as the officer is telling Renee to get out of the car. Then her partner says drive baby drive.

Split second decisions

You do not see Renee get shot.

Accept what you can't change, change what you can't accept, and hope you are smart enough to know the difference.
Anything else is just self induced mental torture.

(I've not watched it but might be same as shown in TV).

But whatever to me there is the consideration of proportionality. He clearly walked away fine.

If she had hit him then why - after the event - did his colleague not go to him and check was OK?
Reported that a Dr. identified himself and was refused access to check on the victim but that Dr wasn't redirected to the shooter.

(edited to add a quote relevant to post)

Trump currently claiming that the Venezualan oil industry was stolen from the US, and that the greatest oil companies in the world will now reclaim it all.
He's utterly deranged

It suits the wreckers just fine. They just want to smash everything up and let the oligarchs divide the spoils. Chaos is all part of the game plan, and boy, Trump specialises in that, as he really doesn't know what he's doing, other than trying to siphon off as much cash as he can and inflate his ego.
