I understand what you are saying but (and I have said this before), I don't think the cohort of malicious incompetents are as capable as we think. Hitler swept into power decisively and rapidly. This bunch is proceeding badly. And also, there is a status quo that does have the means to resists and a population who are not going to be rolled over so easily. The protests against ICE are nationwide and the pushback is tangible (watch Status Coup on YT).
The resistance to the Gestapo was minimal. People found themselves powerless mainly because the 3rd Reich was so efficient and brutal. This lot are brutal alright but they lack the deployment efficiency.

Whether they are competent enough to pull it off remains to be seen, and if they will be ruthless enough too, which I agree is unlikely.
What is not in doubt is that this is the path that they are on and need to be stopped. How they will be stopped is the question.

Problem is, and I've said this before, he really is the gift that keeps giving, I mean, I bet even @CXRAndy has facepalmed (metaphorically) at at least one thing Mr Trump has said or done, although I doubt he'll ever admit it 😆.
