I suspect.he will be impeached fairly soon, and as usual that will fail in the senate.

It might not this time. A lot of Republicans are unhappy with Trumps move and and there is a lot of discontent amongst Republican voters apparently. With mid terms on the horizon a lot of those Senators will be thinking about their salaries and getting re-elected. Trump might just have gone too far this time.

I wonder if we (our leaders) have in some respects brought this on ourselves. When we (our leaders) respond to everything he does (however daft) with flattery eg Rutte calling him "Daddy" with endless praise, Starmer heaping endless flattery , we have shown Trǔmp that to any threat we just roll over and do what he demands with added ring kissing. Trúmp probably expects NATO to stand aside and sell out Greenland by the end of the weekend because we've repeatedly shown him that's what we do.

Had we (our leaders) had a bit of backbone he might be looking to use existing treaties ...
