The stockmarket isn't booming. Market gains over the last 3+ years are purely down to the Mag7 stocks, and many of them are over priced at the moment - Telsa is a basket case of over valuation, many EU governments are stopping using Microsoft products, Nvidia faces big challenges in the chip market.

The economy isn't booming. The GDP growth rate in 2025 was 2.0%, according to the International Monetary Fund.

Are you still labouring under the illusion that facts matter?

I think a lot depends on where/how you are investing which is maybe why Labour are not managing to generate growth. Even for UK resident investors, invest offshore and returns of 13% pa are easy (based end-Dec 24 to end-Dec 25). So why would people be investing for far lower returns in the UK?

There has been 11% increase in 1 year.

GDP has increased far more than you listed in the last few quarters, against the back drop of huge tariffs

Depends on your definition of "booming" I suppose, I daresay Rachel would be shouting "BOOM" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gjmm7dlggo

I am not a Trump Supporter by the way

To add, the USA for the past decade has created on average 1.8m jobs per annum. In other words, 1.8m jobs advertised. in 2025, there was 170,000 for the whole year.

I guess MAGA Dandy has been watching Fox News which were waxing lyrical about the economy after Pam Bondage was saying in the hearing that we should be talking about how great the economy was under Trump and not the files. I also presume, this was an attempt to talk about anything but the files in an attempt to distract.
Secular talk on YT broke the markets down and debunked all that FN horse sh*t about the economy.

Meanwhile, back at the WH, Trump gets a trophy for 'the undisputed champion of clean coal'. (I kid you not) but he left the award ceremony quick to avoid post the Bondage grilling.

He slurred all the way through his acceptance speech.
I guess the coal lobby has learned what to do.

Maybe crossing several threads but an article I found interesting about Iran and options it has when standing its ground against US/Israel.
Few mins read but one aspect I thought important
Iran has more options up its sleeve than Trump and Netanyahu assume
...
One of Iran’s few strengths lies in its development and production of low-cost short-range armed drones, of which it has produced thousands ...

The key factor here is that most such drones do not have the range to reach Israel, but could certainly cross the much shorter distance of a couple of hundred kilometres over the Gulf to the many US military facilities in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and elsewhere.

Given the determination of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, it is well-nigh certain that it already has scores of stocks of appropriate munitions hidden across the country and ready to use for this purpose. It will also have established a robust capability to manufacture armed drones in time of war at numerous small factories and workshops in towns and cities throughout the country.
...
If Iran is facing a bitter war of attrition, then all it has to do in return is kill just a few US soldiers. The war itself will likely cause a global economic downturn that will be damaging enough to Trump, but losing young American lives in a foreign war instigated by Trump himself would be little short of a political disaster.
