After an interview with Axios, it looks like Trump is already seeking an exit strategy. He was already warned by allies in the region that there wasn't a way where the outcome could be controlled and was under massive pressure to not launch am attack on Iran. The economic repercussions for those allies are massive.
But Trump was too stupid to heed the warning. Now he's looking for a way out.
If he backs out (with speeches about a successful military campaign and lots of bollox thrown in), he's going to look like even more of a fool to his already dwindling base. Many significant MAGA influencers and right wing commentators (Tucker Carlson for example) are openly furious with him.

Whilst it might be positive that the Ayotollah is dead, the forthcoming chaos will be terrible.
And the US has such a strong track record of enabling regime change in the middle east .............................. not!

Lest we not forget that the US went into Iran 47 years ago with the intention of regime change. After that, there were sanctions placed on Iranian oil which sowed the seeds of. the resentment towards the infidel.

That would be Persia. 'Iran' is the one who destroyed the country's Persian heritage because it was considered unIslamic.
I hope these latest events do lead to regime change and the end of fundamentaist Islamic rule. God knows the Iranian people deserve it. Can't help but worry that it won't though and the long term result will be more repression.
