I've never really thought of Slipknot as a "vile" band name to be honest. Largely I suppose because they're what I'd call disco metal for baby goths: a lot of fun and quite silly.

But that's a whole different thread!

Not even particularly deep either. Rotting Christ have one of the vilest/best names out there, and ironically make some stunningly beautiful music, which has surprised my pals who "don't know how I can listen to that racket".
