It gets better:

North Carolina Senate leader Republican Phil Berger, who touted President Donald Trump’s endorsement throughout his campaign, conceded defeat Tuesday in his primary election in a race he lost by just 23 votes.
Prediction: "The election was stolen. The Dems did election fraud. We need a recount..." etc

The Rep majority in the house is getting smaller and smaller. It looks as though that even with election interference, the mid terms are going to be catastrophic for the GOP.
The only way that the Reps can keep their senate and house majority is if there aren't elections.
[It would be wonderful to watch Donald squirm around as president with a minority govt. - perhaps even with the power to hold these f*ckers to account whilst he is still president - to watch it unravel and have no power to do anything about it. It's heading that way]

I am optimistic though. Trump is so unpopular and becoming more and more unpopular in his own party* that I don't think he will have the backing to call the elections off. I also think that he is becoming so deranged, so quickly, he may be impeached or at least, threatened with impeachment, he will loose all control if he hasn't already - we don't know what's going on in the backrooms.
VD Vance is separating himself from Trump (I honestly think Vance is one of the few that doesn't have the Epstein files dangling above his head).

*There is a silver lining to oil price hikes.

Trump cannot keep blaming the Dems - the Dems didn't bomb Iran, the Dems aren't sending ICE into cities, the Dems aren't crashing the economy and the jobs market and pushing inflation and the cost of living up, the Dems weren't the one's who took away food stamps or are pushing health care premiums through the roof, the Dems aren't causing huge backlogs at airports, the Dems aren't pushing gas prices up, the Dems didn't murder Pretti and Goode, the Dems are not responsible for the coffins returning to the US. He's fast running out of lies and bullsh*t.

And has far as the GOP is concerned he's a disposable lint roller. Once he's completely covered himself in shoot, they'll just drop him like hot cakes and tell everyone he has dementia, nothing was their fault.

We'll 'look forward' to the bullsh*t, PR and propaganda as they try to separate themselves.

When gas prices hit $2.89 per gallon during Biden's administration, there were stickers out on pumps with Joe Biden pointing and the words 'I did that'. Now there is a plethora of the same stickers...

BBC reports that Hegseth is putting the US economy on a war footing.

Is this the prelude to the postponement of the mid-term s?
Or maybe just that they (and Israel) are eating through munitions at a horrendous rate and they've just realised it needs to be replaced. Remember they still have Cuba to invade, Panama to invade, Greenland to at least seriously threaten and if they don't wave white flags to invade. So much to do so little time to do it in.

And maybe the worst is sitting here making light of Trūmp and his madness but in the real world vast numbers of innocent civilians are being killed, having their families killed, seeing their homes, properties and livelihoods destroyed and all needlessly because of failure of our politicians.

The Iranians have requested full reparations as part of any settlement.
That will be expensive.
I think there are fairly easy ways round "the cost". US can offer to lift sanctions, allow oil sales in US$, etc. that would allow the Iranians to get international money without US having to actually write out a cheque and at the same time allowing the Iranians to claim they'd been fully compensated.

Yet again reality shows Trũmp as a complete liar, complete fantasist.
Iran gives negative response to US ceasefire plan amid push for talks
Iranian officials expressed initial disapproval of a US ceasefire plan on Wednesday, even as intermediaries suggested direct talks between the two could start as early as this weekend.
Yet yesterday Trűmp claiming talks had been ongoing for a few days, making good progress, etc. yet now the intermediary says they could start as soon as this coming weekend.

How can anybody, anywhere trust anything coming out from the US when so much is complete twaddle. Why do our leaders waste so much time focusing on what it 99% likely complete lies, fantasy, from some parallel universe. Maybe even worse that it seems so easy for Trūmp's lies to be uncovered and he doesn't seem to realise the world sees he as just having lost it.

More likely that they are setting this up as an excuse to cancel the midterms, citing the "wartime economy" (though to Trump it would be an 'excursion economy', which sounds more like not having a flake in your ice cream).

Having an elective war thousands of miles from home is hardly a reason to cancel elections.
Even the Supreme Court won’t fall for that.
