In effect he already has. When he declared how NATO won't help bail him out of a mess or his own creation that goes on to suggest he won't be there for NATO. Yesterday Hegseth "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declined on Tuesday to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to NATO's collective defense". Just questioning whether they'd honour Article 5 is enough to make NATO in its current form "dead".

Time for Europe to get on with setting up their own defence alliance, NATO minus US. It becomes irrelevant who is President after Trump, that it has happened means it can happen again. US is no longer a reliable ally and we need to get on with sorting ourselves out without US.

True. Nidderdale was an EU place of hardship (or whatever it was called) until all the Yanks at Menwith Hill moved to live off site.

Some time back (pre Iran war and associated issues), I was listening to a military analyst being interviewed and apparently it is cheaper for the US to barrack troops in Europe than have them based in the US. Main reason is because Europe provides bases, land, accommodation, etc. for free.

So if US withdraws its troops back to be based in US it will cost them more US$ (and save Europe €s/£s).

Simiularly, US is not spending more or having higher military budgets because of NATO. It's spending that amount anyway except as above for their saving on barracks for overseas based troops). If US left NATO they would still have the same military budgets/expenditure.

As I noted upthread. Obviously up to men how they dress, but the nature of his pneumatic addition and other aspects are rather more 'unusual', and especially so given the macho posturing of Trump men.
