Some time back (pre Iran war and associated issues), I was listening to a military analyst being interviewed and apparently it is cheaper for the US to barrack troops in Europe than have them based in the US. Main reason is because Europe provides bases, land, accommodation, etc. for free.

So if US withdraws its troops back to be based in US it will cost them more US$ (and save Europe €s/£s).

Simiularly, US is not spending more or having higher military budgets because of NATO. It's spending that amount anyway except as above for their saving on barracks for overseas based troops). If US left NATO they would still have the same military budgets/expenditure.
And lose the greatest miltary backup. Eu, and UK are not capable of defending against anything.

The US stands to lose the eastern end of it's early warning system. He'd do well to remember that part.

And, at present the stations are interlinked, meaning a greater loss if two at the same end disappear at the same time.

I see that Trump is likely in for another judicial kick in the plums, this time by the Supreme Court. This, despite him taking the unprecedented step of actually attending part of the hearing. The justices don’t appear keen on his proposed racist alterations to the current birthright laws.

Meanwhile popcorn machines around the country are warming up, as Demented Donnie is preparing to unload his presidential poop show on live tv. Gotta be good for a laugh. (Or a cringe if you are the sensitive sort)

I suspect it is just going to be a re-hash of what he's been banging on about for the past few days.

The US cannot disband NATO. Even to leave would require a two-third Senate super-majority or an act of Congress.

There is no possibility of the former and the latter would take longer than he has before he loses the house.
