Iran has a shoot hot social media team and there are also some really quite intelligent leaders near the top.

Interesting isn't it, I think this taps into Edward Said's concept of "Orientalism". Trump and his minions probably think of Iran (and the Middle East in general) as just being full of clerics running around holding the Quran and shouting "Allahu Akbar". I doubt they had any understanding at all of who they are actually dealing with.

By the way Kegsbreath and his other frikkin nutjob Christians talk, they probably have a deep seated fear of them.

But let’s be clear here, it’s only economic terrorism when it’s the Iranians.

The double standards are glaring and the MAGA base doesn't see it until their gas prices go up.
It's okay to kill 75000 Palestinians, it's okay to grift and sell bitcoins, it's okay to seize Venezuelan oil and pocket the proceeds of the sale of the oil, it's okay to treat the drug dealing, raping illegals inhumanely whilst simultaneously pardoning drug dealing, raping criminals...
The list is endless.

The US is blockading all Iranian ports.

"Iran needs to let ships through as the price of oil is skyrocketing"
"We've done a bigly best deal ever with Iran"
"Iran is extorting money to let ships through but the price of oil is going back down"
"We are going to stop letting ships through even though we need what's on the ships"

Iran - "WTF is this guy doing? He's going to be attacking his own warships next..."

I suspect in their fragile minds they believe they are waging a modern day version of the 'Crusades'.

A reminder of my reply to Brian's post on the 7th March.

Worth reading the caption.

Apart from that... WTAF?

More evidence to back the theory of a religious war. The 21st century crusades.

You missed the bit where 120 empty oil shiptankers are heading to the gulf of America.

If that's true, then Islamic regime can wait as much as they like
That's about 2 days of traffic through the Straits

I'll bet the Iranians can withstand more than the President who backs down every Monday

Iran is prepared for disruption. In 2020, when Mr Trump tried to crush the country’s economy, crude exports fell below 400,000 barrels a day, down from 2.2m b/d in 2018. This time it can endure for perhaps six months by printing money, selling 100m or so barrels of oil in storage off Malaysia and China, and securing informal credit from suppliers of imports. The blockade will hurt America and its allies too, by further squeezing energy markets. Iran’s leaders may still have time on their side.
