That's about 2 days of traffic through the Straits

I'll bet the Iranians can withstand more than the President who backs down every Monday
Given that Iran has never closed the Strait before they probably had no idea how achievable it would be, if it would work and if it would inflict the expected economic impact on the rest of the world. So their planning probably included contingency for that aspect now working.

It probably worked better than they expected. And as far as economic impact on the rest of the world, that continues. Seems to me all the US is doing is stopping Iranian oil exports and their revenue from a few tariffs.

Given that they've been planning on this happening for years, their oil shipments being blockaded is almost certainly something they considered and expected.

Do you mean because the interviewer pivots to the dumabass question about Time Travel? I don't beleive so, it is a fairly short clip so I assume it is true to the original broadcast, but obviously I cannot say for certain.
Yes. The massive gear shift

Is there a thread to talk about the World Cup with respect to likely experiences for travellers or visitor numbers?
I find it interesting that all this is going on in a year that the corrupt World Cup is coming to the US.

Interesting isn't it, I think this taps into Edward Said's concept of "Orientalism". Trump and his minions probably think of Iran (and the Middle East in general) as just being full of clerics running around holding the Quran and shouting "Allahu Akbar". I doubt they had any understanding at all of who they are actually dealing with.
