Flunkey (in the Eye) suggests that Starmer isn't listening to the Palace. Apparently he was advised to deploy the Royals slowly and with care - e.g. Brian meets Trump in Scotland for Golf in Year 1, Brian in the US for the semiquincentennial in Year 2 and State visit in year 3 - then it would be US election year.

Apparently Starmer's team got overexcited and have now used up all of their aces, plus Camilla is annoyed because she wanted to meet Epstein victims as part of her campaign to help survivors of abuse.

Did Starmer stop her doing that?

I think this does, generally, explain a large part of why Trump's 'base' votes for him (if we ignore the intelligent but hideously wealthy people who vote for him because they think he'll make them richer and more powerful).

"These people grew up conditioned to believe that the world is their oyster. Because they're male. Because they're white. Because they're nominally Christian (ha). Because they're American. Their mediocrity is the fault of everyone else. It's never them. They are never to blame. They have a blazing rage for anyone who asks them to meet a higher standard.

And that's the real and very dark tragedy in all this: They know they'll never get what they really want. They are resigned to struggling for the rest of their days. The American Dream is permanently out of reach. But their consolation prize is having the world's most powerful idiot in the Oval Office, always mocking the "elites" they hate (people who work hard), always oppressing communities they hate (minorities who work hard), always winking at them and giving them a circus of schadenfreude.

They love Trump because he validates their rage and mediocrity, and even though they understand there will never be more than that, they've accepted it, deep down, as a worthy prize for the loss of everything else. It's really fucking sad and dark."

The author of that piece, Charlotte Clymer, is a trans identifying man. His main job is being a trans activist. He's mad because the Trump administration - and lots of women - don't want him and his ilk to have access to women's spaces, services, sports, or prisons. So he demonises anybody who supports that as a racist, bigoted white supremacist, in order to ensure that his own interests are protected.

That's his aim. It's not really about anything else. He is not a nice man. He also looks nothing like the heavily filtered photo on his Bluesky account.

I wish you'd look deeper than posting something that pops up on Bluesky the minute you see it, Brian. It's really no different than what another poster is accused of doing with posts from X.

Can you you not look at a piece of writing on its own merit? What's the writer's gender/sex got to do with this argument?

So the voices in his head are telling him Charlie would have supported him on Iran if it had been up to him.
So now Trūmp is talking on behalf of the King! And the King can't stand up and say "err, not quite ..."

Why are we wasting time and resource pandering to this fool?

Re: King's Visit to Trūmpland
...2 days after Charles flies back Trūmp will realise that Sadiq Khan is still the London Mayor and Starmer still UK PM so it will be more insults and tariffs and threats.

Won't some one please give him a colouring in book full of casino's, arches, ballroom, golf courses, maps of the world, female figurines and a box of gold Sharpie's?
