Trump offered everything people have been calling for. He would stop illegal immigration, deport the illegals, destroy DEI, trans. Restore women's rights to have safe spaces, their own sports. Sort out the economy, introduce tariffs to balance trade with other countries. Take on rogue countries and safeguard energy and trade routes from China and its regional influence.

Oh, restore US pride for its citizens

I don't see Aurora posting in anything but a dignified and thoughtful manner on the gender thread (and anywhere else if it comes to it). I may have missed things that happened before I joined here but in all my time she's risen above some pretty nasty stuff that's been aimed at her.

Just listening to a Don Henley song and the phrase “beating ploughshares into swords” popped up. Which is a biblical saying that King Charles used in his speech to Congress.

But the next line of the song is perfect, and I don’t know if who ever wrote the speech knew the song, as well as the bible phrase, but it’s such a subtle dig.

The full line is “we’re beating ploughshares into swords, for this tired old man that we elected king”.

I think this does, generally, explain a large part of why Trump's 'base' votes for him (if we ignore the intelligent but hideously wealthy people who vote for him because they think he'll make them richer and more powerful).

It does matter because Charlotte Clymer's main job is transactivism and for once it might be helpful if you looked beyond the superficial slagging off of Trump voters to the vested interest behind it. This post is no different to right wing rhetoric that every Democrat supporter is a Commie, but because it's about Trump supporters you post it without any reflection.
