I'm not sure if all of these are totally genuine, but it's not too far off where gramps is, while pretending to be presidential.

Relevant report in the Guardian following Hegseth's speechThe D-Day commemoration. Hegseth is a really sick fuck. I really hope we can look back at this era and recognise just how sick these people are that they cannot even do a solemn commemoration without being ar$eholes.
The most dangerous ideology is the one he brought over with him.

Pete Hegseth’s D-day speech on immigration condemned as ‘grotesque stupidity’
...
The remarks were swiftly condemned on social media. The English historian, author and television presenter Simon Schama described them as a “special kind of loathsomeness: a blend of historical deafness, grotesque stupidity and comically ludicrous self-importance”.
From Jerusalem, the Israeli human rights lawyer Daniel Seidemann also weighed in. “This is an obscene desecration of the memories of those who stormed the beaches of Normandy, and especially of those who fell,” he wrote.
Anders Åslund, a Swedish economist and former senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, contrasted the comments with Hegseth’s later remarks on the US standing alongside its allies. “So much nonsense,” he wrote on social media. “‘We stand by our allies!’ No you don’t. You just attacked them. Immigration policies are internal matters.”
On Sunday, the UK justice secretary and deputy prime minister, David Lammy, said he had had an “agreeable” conversation in which he had sought to set the record straight with Vance.

I'm still gobsmacked that *anyone*, even a Trump lackey, would think that this is appropriate. It would be like being asked to give a funeral oration, and slagging off the deceased. Even if you didn't like them, most people would find a way of saying something that was appropriate for a funeral. But it's like Trump has given them permission to be utterly disrespectful and objectional, no matter how solemn the occasion. It's utterly bizarre.
Tells you all you need to know about the characters of Donnie and Hegseth.

It’s a doozy. A proper orange meltdown. I can’t help but wonder what a good UK journalist could have done in that situation.
Hmm, which one, do you think. Victoria D seems to have lost a bit of her probing edge, Jon Snow would have been good (sad to hear of his diagnosis of Alzheimers), James O'Brien would tie him in knots, Lewis Goodall maybe... who else?
