While somewhat unrelated (?),! recently asked the President of South Korea if they would like to join us in the Denuclearization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they said, "No thanks!"

Maybe I'm too cynical but I suspect that is the real reason for Trump's decision. Had it been a considered strategic move it would have happened some time back not just as the exercises were starting. I suspect Trump wasn't even aware of the exercises, somebody told him (again?) and he also recollected how S. Korea didn't help him & Netanyahu with Iran and he saw an opportunity for vengeance (but then I'm a cynic).

North Korea’s Kim Jong Un has said the United States’ war with Iran proves his country made the right decision to keep its nuclear weapons.

In a speech to North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly published on Tuesday, Kim accused Washington of “acts of state sponsored terrorism and aggression,” but did not mention Iran by name.

“The present situation clearly proves” that North Korea was justified in rejecting what he described as US pressure and “sweet talk” to give up its nuclear arsenal, Kim said. He added that North Korea’s nuclear status is now “irreversible.”

All international relationships are cynical to a degree, but Trump just does stuff on base instinct, most of which is "What's in it for me?" and "Have they insulted me?" He doesn't look any more long term that when his nappies are going to be changed.

But ... N. Korea is helping Russia (who Trümpton likes) but then so is Iran (who Trũmpton doesn't like). And to make it worse (for Trūmptön) N Korea supports the "Axis of Resistance" who are currently at war with Trümpton.

A question though as I presume this was for Auld Lang Syne. At what point in the song is it? Quite a lot of people incorrectly start with crossed arms when you are only supposed to do it after the line "And there's a hand, my trusty friend.". She is quite possibly the only correct person.
