I'd prefer efforts were made to improve lives of refugees in more tangible ways rather than waste resources on TV shows which is not going to change a bigots mindset, whatever this TV programme shows with the handful taking part. My guess is that these contestants? Participants? In the show, once back in their ordinary lives will be subject to the same people that influenced their negative opinions towards these people in the first place. I know that is quite an pessimistic, negative view but i tend to have that about TV these days anyway...

Not the sort of programme I would choose to watch. No matter what they say, it is not going to be "real", even if it is made to look "real", there is no way they are going to put selected members of the public in harms way. There will have been a host of "risk assessments", prior to filming, and, no doubt a legal team with a significant budget.

The scene where they were telling a refugee living in a tent city next to an open sewer "We're poor too" was particularly obnoxious.

Do you have a home?
Do you have a toilet connected to a closed sewer?
Do you have hot & cold running water?
Do you have enough to eat?
Do you have healthcare?
Did you have state education?
Do you have electricity?
Do you have access to a car?

I thought so.

Another young girl had it about right: "They make me embarrassed to be British".

Me too.
