Three Hail Marys and light a candle to save you from one hell. I'm not an expert on other hells.

God's upset (whichever one), but perhaps the other gods point and laugh.

I await the thunderbolt. I did ask them once if they believed in Gods such as Allah, Vishnu, Zeus, Thor etc. When they replied 'no' I pointed out that I just went one God further. They've stopped trying to make me a Christian.

The nice thing about the Hindu gods is that literal belief in them seems to be optional. Mind you, some of the more radical CofE lot seem to take a similar view.

Over lunch one day with a refined relative I tried to open a discussion about language and started by saying that, of course, words only have the meaning and value a society gives them.

The relative asked for examples.

I told them that, in Dutch, a fokker is a respectable term for a person who breeds animals, and your kont is your bottom, a word you'd use with small children.

"I always knew the Dutch are filthy" was the response.

Personally I like properly blasphemous terms, which says lots about my upbringing.
