Something nasty in the woodshed
I've heard that posited as a theory before..

That some people would rather they, themselves get hurt a bit, so long as someone they don't like gets hurt much more.

I'm going to ponder that psychological theory, on my ride now.

Suns out, essential chores are done, it's a sunny Sunday, in October..

Too good a chance to miss :hello:
Jealous now, the weather here's absolutely foul!

A little more news in the PPE VIP bonanza: the Information Commissioner has found that the Department of Health and Social Care has to divulge the names of the 47 companies in the VIP lane and that it has failed to comply with the Freedom of Information Act.

''The DHSC has not disclosed the requested information, nor advised the Commissioner that it considers it is otherwise exempt by virtue of another exemption. The DHSC has therefore failed to comply with its obligations under FOIA''.
''...failure to comply may result in the Commissioner making written certification of this fact to the High Court pursuant to section 54 of the Act and may be dealt with as a contempt of court”.

The same Tories, who are trying to stop anonymity on social media, now have lost a court battle in which they desperately fought to protect the anonymity of those awarded dodgy PPE contracts to their mates.

It's OK, Honest Dom Raab's working up legislation to enable the Government to overturn court rulings they disagree with!
I'm not sure that even they would be able to make it apply retrospectively. It's no protection against future fraud, though. Indeed, it's protection of future fraud.

At least we have a strong Attorney General to hold the Government to task here and explain the error of their ways. ☹️
