Yes, January 30 2020 just before the pandemic. The transition period was at the end of 2020. I wasn't clear enough in my post about that, but the UK always had control of its borders during the pandemic and had the power to control who came in, like other countries throughout the world did at that time. I believe it was an island throughout that time, which also made control easier. Boris Johnson had the same opportunity as every other leader did to control the borders. Others surrounded by land borders did better than us e.g. Germany, bordered by nine other countries, did much better and closed borders in March 2020 with stricter lockdowns.
I believe Johnson's government's management of the pandemic in 2020 was a shambles. Never mind using my clumsy wording as a smokescreen to avoid an answer, do you believe his performance was a shambles, or was he just unlucky?
