True, except, depending how "olden" you want to be, perhaps, it was an earlier wall which is/was the answer?

They didn't stay for long, it was more of a special military operation than an invasion.

Facebook memories "helpfully" reminded me that ten years ago I woke up to the news that we'd voted "Naw". I wasn't surprised, but I was disappointed. Some of the comments left by family members were quite enlightening, not to the point of cutting ties, but my aunt writing "Did you want independence so you could laugh at us descending into chaos from over the border?" was a bit much. If we'd voted yes, I'd have done everything I could to move home.

Rather than start a new thread a search through this one up, and reading it back brought amusement in the form of debating powerhouse jowwy blundering around like an infant.

A decade on and I think it's fair to say Scottish independence is dead in the water for the time being. The SNP have self-immolated and it appears we're happy as a nation for things to trundle on as they are, in hoc to Westminster and (even more boringly) Labour who only really give a toss about Scotland when it suits them.

Look on the bright side, Europe seems to be embracing right wing nationalism while Scotland are baking away from it 😂

What hacked me off most ten years ago was the fact that, as I was then living in England, I was denied the right to vote in the referendum whilst many transient students, and the like, could vote.

At that time I was in the early stages of planning my move back to Scotland, completing the process a little over two years later, therefore the outcome was very relevant to me.
