That headline doesn't say what you claim it does
Have you posted the wrong screenshot?

Do you think he'll still be PM for much longer? Multiple news sources now running the story that he did know Mandy had failed the vetting process.

Someone in the foreign office is going to be in trouble.
Starmer told Parliament "due process was followed". It was. His statement was true. "Due process" allows for Developed Vetting outcome to be ignored (doesn't matter who does the ignoring).

That said, it does highlight a staggering degree of incompetence and stupidity over a massively important appointment.

I'm reading he wasn't actually told about the security vetting.

The devil will be in the detail. i.e. Why was the vetting ignored, and under what sort of pressure?

Read the original story, it is a Guardian investigation. This outlines in detail.

Yes but he said on more than one occasion that due process had taken place. Even Ed Davey said that if it was true the PM was not aware Lord Mandelson had failed security vetting, he should have "told Parliament at the earliest opportunity, not waited for the media to force the truth out".
Come on. He's been found out. If he doesn't do the decent thing himself then surely someone behind the scenes will have to have a word with him in a darkened room?
