Oof, am crossing the channel next week for a week away. Not Paris, but am a little concerned about bringing some continental pests back home with me.

Of course, bedbugs are already here.
And our cats are quite profficient at donating their own contributions: the odd flea, tick or giant frog!

Was in a hotel in Paris last guy. Big group of us. Several had to move rooms because of bed bugs

The Rugby QF could be a super spreader event with loads of fans travelling over this weekend

If I found bedbugs on holiday, I'd be wary of bringing them home in luggage.
I wonder if there's any value in buying bug spray? Can't imagine it being bulletproof.

Nhs on it's page says they might be resistant to bug spray, that advice rising hot washing close and tumble drying them instead. (and calling the council exterminator service but i assume that's more for when you have them inside your house. ( link: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/bedbugs/ )

Some Eastern European tenants brought them into a flat we were letting at the time. We ended up disposing of two beds and having to get pest control in.
