Used to love watching HUTH in the school holidays but it's so repetitive. With all these property shows I now find myself watching the first bit and fast forwarding to the reveal. Still love Beeny, though her latest auction house thing is a bit rubbish.

I don't think you can beat A Place in the Sun as a showcase of irritating British people.

Jasmine: Now the flat's up for €200k, what would you like to offer?
Keith and Maureen: We'd like to make a cheeky offer of €120k, Jasmine.....

I'd recommend it. Joel Golby has it spot on really, as it's a masterpiece in how to get people to watch utter nonsense.

I think of it like a warped version of Grand Designs, only where the presenter doesn't end up somehow impregnating someone. Kevin McCloud must have about 50 kids by my reckoning.

You had me curious until the bit in bold.

Well, fair enough, but most things are utter nonsense when you get down to it.

I have cats. An exercise in completely futile nonsense. They spend most of the day sleeping and I threaten them with exile or death while they're awake.

Puffins. What on earth are they for?

Highlighters. You could just use a different colour pen.

I could go on.

On HUTH the participants claim to have spent virtually nothing to do up a whole house. Like £15k. It’s always ridiculously unrealistic to the point that they have to be lying.

Where as Grand Designs they seem to go £250k over budget.

It won’t surprise you the I have neither cats, puffins, nor highlighters. 🤣

The levels of stupidity in Grand Designs know no bounds.
