Thing is, I now don't even want to post anything on the main site now, so as not to give them the satisfaction of moderating everything I do, but I know I'll post things eventually, not least the quizzes on Thursday. 🙄🤦♂️

There's no moderation on this bit of CC at all. You could start an unmoderated catch all thread on bike stuff on here if you wanted.
It's pretty hard to build a forum from scratch these days as there's so many out there already.

If I go to the main forum, it's a bit like when I'm teaching children: language has to be somewhat more carefully chosen. The difference is that I'm paid to be careful with my language and subject matter when I'm teaching, whereas CC feels like one's got prudish parents breathing down one's neck but the children went off to university years ago.

I can't remember if that was a mistake or an attempt at a French pun.
I do remember a story told by my school French teacher about the pitfalls of using a dictionary for translation. He'd had to mark a pupil's essay which described a house built out over a lake. The house was supported on haemorrhoids.

I use DeepL as my default online translation aid, but always toggle the translation back again when it's suggested a word I'm not sure about.

On-line safety roolz innit. They're a bit of a stumbling block. I think the primary reason BR went under. Well, it was a sinking ship but that put extra holes in it.
