I was reading this article. Conrad Black has been removed from the Lords, along with Prescott and Archer.
It seems that if you don’t turn up you eventually get the boot. Which is good.
I presume they can still call themselves a Lord.
The title is a lifetime title. Prescott is unable to attend after a stroke, I would imagine that they have been holding his post open out of optimism. Black lives in the USA and thus never attends unless he is in the UK and wants the cash. Archer has never attended the Lords, but they only changed the rules to be able to get rid of sitting members a few years ago.
