If Badenoch had any sense (haha, yes, I know), or if the three remaining sensible Tories (haha, yes, I know that too) could seize the moment of Jenrick's departure, they could drag the Tory Party back to a pragmatic pro-business, pro-EU position, which served them electorally pretty well until the 'bastards' staged their Brexit coup with the aid of Chancer Johnson.

I've just started his book on Westminster (and why it doesn't work), and his opening prologue on Failing Grayling is just extraordinary in its analysis of how Grayling completely fucked up the probation service.

Just been watching that pc. What a pair of snake oil salesman. Jenrick clearly a bit uncomfortable at being patronised by his new boss Farage, and with all his blame for the failures of the last Tory party being directed squarely at others in the party, conveniently forgetting he was an active part of it or glossing over it by saying he disagreed with a lot of it.

Having said that they are both politicians who are able to think on their feet (even though the content is clichéd crap and full of jam tomorrow vague promises) and make Starmer look like a pre-programmed automaton.

One thing that looks pretty certain is that there will be a lot more defections coming in the next few months.

Look over to the US, and it becomes apparent that competence and honesty are positively disadvantageous when applying for government posts.

My guess:
I suspect Jenrick won't now get the prominence in Reform he was trying to negotiate (hence "negotiations" were still ongoing).

Tomorrow his defection will drift to irrelevance.

He'll periodically pop-up trying for some prominence but his career progression has ended.

I suspect in 12 months he'll be touring the chat shows pushing a book he got somebody to write in his name.
