I wonder why it is that local radio seems to be more prepared to eviscerate the bullshitting politicians than the national channels (TV and radio). They demolished Truss a few years ago.

The national radio presenters has to be nice otherwise the politicians just won’t come back on their show.
So the journalist needs to be nice in order to have access to politicians.
You are already seeing it on channels like LBC, certain presenters will never get access to certain politicians.

The local guys have no such worries, so go full on.

Also explains why our reporting and politicians are so bad. They all want to look good and avoid the tricky questions.

To be fair to Badenoch, Lincolnshire is as far north as Manchester which is in the North. It's just that the domain of "the North" starts on a diagonal. Plus she's from London so thinks everything past Watford Gap is North.

I would defer to someone from Newcastle to decide what classifies as the North East. I mean, from my perspective, Swindon is in the North East.

I still support the notion that whilst Westminster is being done up, Parliament should become "roving" and meet in different cities up and down the country.

I suppose Farage still wouldn't get to Clacton though...

But at the same time those national presenters provide an audience for the politicians.

If more interviewers held politicians to account those politicians would need to decide to face the challenge or not get any national TV/radio presence. (Remembering GB News is really just preaching to the converted so betting that platform won't garner any new votes).
