Can’t help thinking that out of the current 117 tory MPs a fair few of them will be considering their future with the party. I really wonder what the Kemi Tories will have to offer for the next election.

Who knows, I was thinking of the likes of Jeremy Hunt and Rishi Sunak and other relative moderates who have been sitting quietly (and uncomfortably?) on the back benches.
Michael Heseltine, Ken Clark even Theresa May must be pretty gobsmacked at the way the party is going.

I think this is being reported a little harshly, because I understand that the person in question is doing quite a lot of outreach work to try to counter radicalisation. However, letting him stand as a candidate is still a terrible judgement call.

You have to admire her chutzpah for condeming Labour's early release scheme that resulted from the Tories failing to build enough prison places in their 14 years in power and leaving no space for fresh criminals. The whole shrugging of Teflon coated shoulders and saying 'nothing to do with us mate' is an art form.

When I saw her interviewed on TV News the other day she talked about what Labour were doing wrong (re: early release) but completely failed to address that the Conservative Government (that she was a senior Cabinet member of) failed to even start addressing the issue but rather made it even worse.
Whilst I don't agree with the early release scheme I do consider it a problem caused by the previous Conservative Government(s). I'm not familiar with the prison system and have no idea what alternatives might be viable.

I'm not going to blame the tories as it was an issue under Blair, and probably much longer. All previous governments have tried to avoid the logical solution as it is too expensive and would take too long. If action had been taken 20 years ago we wouldn't be where we are today.
